This new publication of Empodera.org aims to convey the moment in which we find ourselves: A commitment of the Cybervolunteers Foundation for the participation of Civil Society to achieve the #SDGs. The people at the center of the digital transformation.
Ten years ago we started with the first publication of Empodera. One more tool, apart from events and the blog, to make visible, share and value the experiences and initiatives that inspire us of people who are changing the world through the social use of technology. A decade goes by flying, and trying to escape the vortex that we eat every day, we have sought, not without effort, moments to reflect on where we are going. These interviews and experiences prove it.
The previous edition, “Making by Hacking, Citizens of change creating the future now” has been almost 40,000 downloads since its launch. All an achievement that we are very proud of. We hope that this new edition will arouse the same interest among all of you.
The book invites us to reflect on the impact that these visionary people are creating today to transform their reality, add value, release knowledge, protect human rights. Using power to ideas, knowledge of citizenship and technology to deconstruct the society we have, and create, today, the society of tomorrow. Technology gives us that flexibility and scalability, there are no limits when the purpose is to meet needs, the limit is in us: what we want to do to solve it.
