What happened in #EmpoderaxlosODS 2018: the year of the initiatives for the Sustainable Development Goals

The XII Edition of #EmpoderaLIVE addressed the topic of the Sustainable Development Goals to achieve the 2030 Agenda. The event, an initiative of Cibervoluntarios Foundation with the support of the City of Malaga, the United Nations Institute for Vocational Training and Research ( UNITAR) and Cifal Málaga, had the special participation of one of the fathers of the 2030 Agenda, Nikhil Seth, Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, and Executive Director of UNITAR. The Agenda has 17 Sustainable Development Goals, which range from the elimination of poverty to the fight against climate change, education, equality for women, the defense of the environment or the sustainable design of our cities.

#EmpoderaXlosODS presented numerous projects and people who are using technology to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and solve global problems. Digital solutions to the challenges proposed by the SDGs to build a more ethical, sustainable, inclusive and participatory world. If you missed it you can watch everything that happened on the stage in the Official Report with videos interviews, streaming of the sessions, and more.

The meeting ended with the signing of the collaboration agreement between UNITAR and the Cibervoluntarios Foundation. Partnerships and collaboration to create global impact again from the empodera.org platform x the SDGs and which aims to raise awareness of the importance of the SDGs to involve citizens and make them part of the 2030 Agenda. Yolanda Rueda, President of the Foundation and Nikhil Seth, Executive Director of UNITAR and Assistant Secretary General of the United Nations, signed the agreement live in front of the audience of the Echegaray Theater. A very special moment that implies taking another step in the commitment of the Cibervoluntarios Foundation for citizen participation.
